Hello and welcome to my website, My name is Niamh Fitzsimons, I am a surface pattern designer / Ilustrator currently living outside Dublin in Ireland. I create character designs and illustrations and tailor made patterns for a range of surfaces including textiles, fashion, homeware and stationary products - check out my Portfolio on the site.

I studied Graphic Design at Letterkenny Institute of Technology and after graduating in 2000, I moved to Holland for 7 years where I worked in Philips Design for (4 years) and where I specialised in working as a surface designer in their female product line. After Philips I went on to work for Vanderveer designers where I created surface designs for their range of sporting products including their bag lines. I returned home in 2007 where I now work on a freelance basis.

I have always been inspired by beauty whether its patterns, colours, people and nature, Living in Holland and being surrounded by different cultures had a huge influence on me and this was where I developed myself further as a designer before moving back to Ireland. I also pick my inspiration up from vintage found fabrics or various objects while on my travels.
